Kenny Sartin Earns the Designation of Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM)

The American Hospital Association (AHA) is proud to announce that Kenny Sartin, BCMH Plant Manager, has earned the designation of Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM). The CHFM is a national credential that distinguishes an individual as being among the elite in a critical field of healthcare facility management. To earn the CHFM, an individual must satisfy eligibility requirements that incorporate a blend of work experience and education, agree to adhere to Professional Standards of Conduct, and pass the CHFM Examination. The CHFM Examination tests knowledge required of a competent healthcare risk manager in the areas of Compliance, Planning, Design & Construction, Maintenance & Operations, Finance and Administration. The CHFM Program supports the community of healthcare facility managers and is designed to provide  an objective and rigorous assessment of professional knowledge.

As of August 2008, Kenny is one of only four individuals certified as a CHFM in WV; signifying that BCMH has joined an elite group of four facilities in the state and is the first small rural hospital to attain this status. Administrator, Ben Vincent, states, “Kenny and the maintenance crew are routinely recognized by the Board of Directors and administration for their outstanding accomplishments at BCMH.” Ben adds, “Kenny’s efforts at our facility are appreciated on a daily basis, and we are very proud of this latest achievement.” Kenny has been employed at BCMH for the past fifteen years and during this time, has been successful in earning his Journeyman Electrician License. He has been an active member of the WV Society of Healthcare Engineers (WVSHE) for the past six years.
