SURGICAL PATIENT EXPRESSES APPRECIATION

Sondra Dean of Burnsville, WV found herself literally surrounded by some of the nursing staff responsible for the compassionate healthcare she received during her stay at BCMH. While preparing for her discharge on April 4, 2012, Sondra expressed her sincere appreciation for the “wonderful care” she received at our “small facility”. “All staff have been amazing,” she comments adding, “I didn’t think I was going to make it.” She went on to relate her story and credit Dr. Ronald Pearson, BCMH General Surgeon, for “saving her life”.

What was described as a ‘difficult process from the beginning’ ultimately resulted in the peaceful smile reflected on Sondra’s face. Because of her situation, she was unable to have the necessary surgical procedure performed at other facilities in the surrounding area. Her confidence in Dr. Pearson provided BCMH with the opportunity to offer ‘unique services’ to a patient who otherwise may have gone untreated. Having been admitted through the Emergency Department, undergoing surgery and spending a little more than a week as an inpatient on Med Surg, Sondra came to know staff quite well, even dubbing some with good-natured nicknames. On April 11, 2012, she returned to BCMH for her  follow-up visit and is doing very well.
