Receiving the Department of the Quarter Award for the second time, the staff of Medical Records recognized the familiar banner presented by BCMH Administrator, Ben Vincent, on May 25^th.  

Medical Records was  honored during the 4^th quarter of 2007 as a ‘behind the scenes’ department for their efforts in reviewing, documenting and destroying old patient records as dictated by policy. The Department of the Quarter Award for the 2^nd quarter of 2010 recognizes their teamwork and dedication to the hospital in addition to their willingness to assist other areas of Braxton County Memorial Hospital. Cathy Stricker, LPN comments, “I feel that all areas of our hospital are important, but these girls are an exception, always busy at their hidden talents.” She adds, “They are very efficient, helpful and will stop on a whim to help someone.”  

Assistant Administrator - Operations and Medical Records Supervisor, Sharon Gaston states, “These are dedicated employees willing to work as long as it takes to get the job done.” They are diligent in their efforts to complete transcription and coding in a timely manner helping to ensure that a constant cash flow is maintained for the hospital. Although the staff of Medical Records are generally hidden away behind mounds of files, they are an intricate part of Braxton County Memorial Hospital and essential to the success of our hospital. Their efforts are greatly appreciated!
