Department of the Quarter

The Radiology Department was recognized as the Braxton County Memorial Hospital Department of the Quarter for the 3rd quarter of 2008.

During the first six months of this year, the number of patients cared for by the Radiology Department has increased by 6% and the number of procedures performed has increased by 10%. “This equates to more people in Braxton and surrounding counties receiving health care as well as increased revenue for Braxton County Memorial Hospital,” states Kim Frazier, Director of Diagnostic Services. She adds, “To aid in the diagnosis and treatment of our patients, this group of medical professionals is educated in anatomy, patient positioning, exam techniques and equipment protocols. They positively interact with every area of the hospital including, Med/Surg, Emergency, Community Health Center, Surgery, and Outpatient Services.”

The employees in Radiology routinely receive ‘kudos’ from their patients. Comments from patient satisfaction surveys describe the staff as being ‘friendly and courteous’, ‘professional’, and ‘pleasant’. Radiology staff truly exhibit a professional attitude and, combined with a caring and personal touch, help patients relax during procedures that otherwise would be very stressful.  The Radiology Department is recognized as being a huge factor in our ability to fulfill the vision of Braxton County Memorial Hospital as we continue to ‘…serve as the gateway for the healthcare needs for the citizens of Braxton County and the surrounding areas.’
