Even though September 18th proved to be a
rainy, dreary day, the Annual Awards Luncheon of the Braxton County
Memorial Hospital Auxiliary was well attended by members, hospital staff
and guests. Festivities were held at P J Berry’s in Sutton with
entertainment provided by Auxiliary President, Jan Dobbins. Those in
attendance enjoyed a delicious meal and wonderful fellowship as always.
Following lunch, BCMH Administrator, Ben Vincent, provided an update
concerning various new services and equipment recently implemented as well
as ongoing support to the BCMH Foundation. Referencing multiple items
recently purchased by the Auxiliary, Ben expressed sincere
appreciation for their monetary gifts in addition to the constant support
provided to BCMH employees and patients. He stated, “Your presence in our
facility - simply being there and gracing us with your gifts and talents -
helps keep us connected to the community we serve. Thank you
for your part in fulfilling our mission of Caring
for you close to home.”
During
the recognitions portion of the program, new members were honored in
addition to those achieving a milestone of
hours volunteering at their local
community hospital. Rosalie Steele was presented the Volunteer of the Year
Award for her dedicated efforts serving as an Auxiliary member. Having
attended the luncheon last year, A.W.V.H.A. Representative and Central District Counselor, Flora Waite, expressed her
gratitude for the invitation and the opportunity to attend the annual
event again this year. She was presented with an appreciation gift for assisting Kathleen
Holcomb with the presentation of pins. At the conclusion of the
program, Loretta Hutchison emerged as the winner of the door prize.
